ABOUT ME

Returning to my ancestral roots couldn’t have felt further from the tropical paradise of Rio de Janeiro, which I had called home for the past 20 years. Having put my university studies on hold, I arrived in London, UK, in January 2010 with a deep desire to explore Europe, but first I needed a way to fund my adventures. My mum had provided me with the contact details for her friend Tim, the owner of Holland Park restaurant Julie’s. After a phone call I secured my first shift, which is when I met Nick.

HOOKED

As we got talking, Nick offered me an interview for a position at his digital agency, Big Group, which I readily accepted. Whilst simultaneously taking evening classes at Birkbeck University to complete my BA degree in Management, I worked my way from receptionist to business assistant, and then management accountant, which is when I had my first taste of project management. 

The redesign of Big Group’s website had become a daunting task. It was suffering from a lack of ownership and undefined PM approach. By working closely with the Head of Digital and creating sprints with user stories, I was able to rejuvenate the project. Filled with satisfaction, and praise for delivering the “cursed” project, I was hooked, and I asked Nick if I could become a project manager.

HUNGRY

Over the next two years at Big Group, I managed CMS builds, CRM platforms, campaign emails and several web build projects for numerous clients, including Mastercard, BT and Pfizer. However, after eight years at Big Group, I was hungry for my next challenge. Since resigning from my full-time position in 2018, I’ve freelanced for London and Sydney-based companies. With each experience, I’ve gained insight into a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, consumer electronics, banking and oil & gas, and overseen the creation and delivery of a diverse range of technological projects, including portals built with SAP BTP, complex websites, native Android & iOS apps, custom data tools, email campaigns and AI powered chatbots.

PASSIONATE

I love the challenge of working in technology’s constantly evolving landscape and keeping up with the latest trends and tools. However, in my spare time you’ll find me reading, running or enjoying a meal with family and friends. Everyone in my family is an amazing cook, so getting together is a real treat. We all have our specialties, mine is Neapolitan pizza and zucchini bread. In between jobs, I augment my Agile project management certifications, and recharge by getting back to nature or exploring new places with my wife. Whether it’s surfing in Indonesia, exploring Mayan ruins in Guatemala, or competing in the Rome Marathon, I find adventure invigorating.
